United by studying music at the University of Edinburgh, the Gal Trio features Emma Cairns and Alessandra Douglas (violin/fiddle) and Serenna MacLellan (flute). Originally formed to play during the 2023 UNESCO Week of Sound, they liked each other so much they became a permanent group. All three are passionate about diverse genres and promoting inclusive access to music. They look forward to bringing a rich and varied collection of music to the Berwick Music Society, including works by Hans Gál, Ernst Spies, Valerie Coleman and traditional folk.
